Importance Of Regulation

When creating my match day programme I will need to abide by Government regulations. After research I have found that there is no print equivalent to ofcom and instead they are told to self-regulate. The press complaints commission is the closest thing they have, it created and funded by the newspapers and magazines that it regulates. They have come up with an ethics code that writers have to follow.

These are some of the rules:

The images included must not be misleading and the text cannot be inaccurate or false, if these are broken then an apology must be stated. You cannot include photographs taken of an individual in a private place without someones consent. You cannot intimidate or harass. you also cannot persist in photographing, phoning or questioning when asked to stop. You cannot obtain information via hidden cameras, listening devices or intercepting private phone calls, messages or emails without consent.

I will need to make sure I abide by these rules when making my match day programme.
