This is the website where Plymouth Argyle sell their official merchandise. Now while its not a design that I would choose to do myself there are certainly some aspects here that I can draw ideas from. I like the idea of having a box coming down from the top screen with the logo. If I was to use this idea I would make the box and the menu bar the same colour as I feel like that would look nicer. I also like the idea of keeping the top of the screen the same. Another thing I am a big fan of is the “my basket” logo that they have changed to a kit bag, I think it looks very nice and its also something different and relevant to the sport. Something I am not a fan of is the orange LTC advertisement at the top, now while I understand why they have had to include it I feel like its out of place and takes away from the website design. I also don’t like the black bar at the top of the screen that to my knowledge and use of the website has no use. A final thing I don’t like is the font of the word ‘GO’ on the search bar as in my opinion it has to be bolder.

This website looks much cleaner and more professional than the other website. I am a fan of the fact they used a white background rather than grass. I like the font they used for the season ticket news picture and I will look to use it for my own website. I like the search bar they used where users click on it and then a bar turns up next to it but the same colour as the background. The only thing I don’t like about it is the white and blue box around it which should be all white and also should be visible when not clicked on; finally it should be bigger than it is currently. Im not a fan of the articles touching the menu bar and if I was to recreate this website I would move them down a bit and create a gap between.

This is the type of menu bar that ideally I would like to do however I do not think this is possible to do by using photoshop and dreamweaver. I like the font and colour and also the fact that the dropdown options are not in bold.

This menu bar is a more realistic style for me as there is no dropdown. With my menu bar however I will not be using yellow as the highlighted colour. I will also change the colour of the bar to a darker green and finally change the font to one resembling the menu bar for the other website minus the dropdown option.

This website is for news articles on football for all teams in all leagues. I am a fan of the black background however unsure about the sudden change to white. An issue with having a black background is that darker images tend to blend in with the background. I will need to watch out for this if I also use black for my own website. I don’t like the search bar for this website which drops down from the menu bar when the icon is clicked. I feel like they left good enough space for the search bar to appear on the menu bar. I don’t like the social media icons above the menu bar as they are too small and look cramped together despite there being lots of space for this not to be an issue. I like the “login | register” section at the top, it looks very clean and I would like to incorporate this into my own website.

The menu is very similar to the one on the Plymouth Argyle website I looked at earlier. I don’t like the use of lowercase letters and also how the main headings are the same text as the subheadings. I would like the fact the logo is In the menubar if the bar was wider, I still don’t dislike it but this idea wouldn’t work for me as my logo wouldn’t work.

I really dislike this page of the website for many reasons. One thing I don’t like is the two black bars flanking the menubar, it made sense in the homepage as half the page was black but its unnecessary here. Another thing I don’t like is the long list of articles in a straight line; it looks unappealing and boring especially with all the text. if I was to redesign this page I would utilise all the page and space out the articles more instead of having a line of them. I do like the idea of having that most popular column however and that is the only time I would include a line of articles.
